The purpose of MNCRS 

- To act as the advocate, voice, representative and the protectors of the traditional values of the Métis People(s) located in the North Kootenay area of British Columbia in association with the Métis Nation British Columbia

- To work in conjunction with the Métis Nation British Columbia in promoting, protecting and enhancing the values and the traditions of the Métis People(s) in the North Kootenay area of British Columbia

- To secure for its Membership and the opportunities for advancement, education and prosperity working in conjunction with and within the Métis Nation British Columbia
